My fascination with wall art began with vivid memories of visiting various museums and galleries. Each piece seemed like a portal to another dimension, offering a glimpse into the artist's world. Over the years, my medium of choice evolved, but my passion remained anchored in the artistic expression of wall art, especially using wood.

The Beginnings: Exploring Different Mediums My journey started with simple collages and paintings, using whatever materials I could find. Photography soon followed, allowing me to capture reality and alter it through the lens. These early experiences were fundamental in shaping my artistic perspective.

Discovering Wood: A New Canvas It was wood, however, that truly transformed my artistic expression. Its organic nature and versatility made it an ideal canvas. Initially, I experimented with simple wood slices, attracted by their natural patterns and textures.

Artistic Expression Through Wood These simple slices evolved into more complex book-matched pieces, where the unique grain patterns seemed to tell their own stories. This process not only deepened my appreciation for wood as a medium but also challenged me to explore its possibilities further.

Advanced Techniques: Carving and Bas-Reliefs Carving wood allowed me to add dimension to my work. Bas-reliefs, in particular, became a way to highlight the intricate grain patterns of the wood in three-dimensional forms. This technique also introduced me to wood burning and coloring, which further enhanced the visual impact of my pieces.

Emphasizing Nature with Biomorphic Art My work with wood naturally gravitated towards biomorphic art, where the organic, abstract forms evoke living entities. This style resonated with my desire to mimic and highlight natural elements through my art.

Incorporating Light and Perspective Light and positioning became crucial elements in presenting my art. Strategic lighting and specific angles could dramatically alter the viewer's experience, making each viewing unique.

Fractal Art: The Intrigue of Infinite Variability Eventually, my curiosity led me to fractal art—a concept where simple, repetitive patterns create complex visual landscapes. This style fascinated me with its potential for endless variations and its reflection of natural laws.

Technological Integration in Art To create these fractals, I began using computer programs that could generate thousands of variations. Each fractal then served as a blueprint for further artistic exploration and manipulation.

The CNC Router: Merging Technology with Tradition The CNC router was a pivotal tool in bringing these designs to life. By carving based on precise digital models, I could achieve levels of detail and consistency unattainable by hand alone.

The Finishing Touch: Paints and Techniques Choosing the right finishes, like metallic base paints, was essential for the final presentation. These paints added a reflective quality that enhanced the depth and complexity of the bas-reliefs.

Teak Wood: The Preferred Medium Teak wood became my preferred material due to its durability and beautiful grain. Its properties make it particularly suitable for detailed carving and long-lasting art pieces.

The Final Product: Reflective and Deep Bas-Reliefs The combination of deep carvings and reflective paints creates a mesmerizing effect. Each piece is unique, drawing the viewer in to explore its depths repeatedly.

Reflections on the Artistic Journey Looking back, each phase of my artistic journey has been a building block for the next. From simple collages to complex fractal carvings, the evolution of my work reflects both personal growth and the endless possibilities of artistic expression.

Conclusion My journey through the world of wood wall art has been both transformative and enlightening. It has allowed me to explore the limits of both the medium and my creativity, leading to a unique body of work that continues to evolve.
